Painesville, It is common for people to re-evaluate their priorities and values every few years. Sometimes this leads to a realization that they are seeking more from their career.
We are proud that company culture is essential here at The Basement Guys. Here are the top four reasons we know we are doing things correctly for our employees.
Recognition, stimulating work, and support are only a few reasons our employees have said they love working for The Basement Guys. Our employees know much management appreciates them, without the work of our employees, we would not be able to help the homeowners in our community.
It can be hard to walk into work every Monday (we all know) but our management works hard to create stimulating work for each employee. It is normal for someone to get bored with their career if they are doing the same thing every day but with our company, there is always something new going on each week.
A typical work week is about 40+ hours so working alongside others with the same values and work ethic is crucial for a companies culture.
It all starts with the hiring process. Sometimes the person who is the most qualified on paper is not the best fit for a company. For this reason, The Basement Guys have a multiple-step interview process, letting different managers meet with the applicant. We want to make sure all of the newly hired employees will fit in with our values and most importantly if they are a good fit for The Basement Guys.
If you hire based on values first, that means you can make sure everyone is approaching each project with the right mindset. A lot of times, the actual function of the job can be taught with the right training and onboarding where a strong work ethic cannot be taught.
Every job comes with tasks that are not going to be enjoyable. However, knowing how every aspect of a job rolls up to a bigger picture with a purpose can help you keep perspective. At The Basement Guys, our main priority is ensuring a great experience for each homeowner.
Guaranteeing a safe home and peace of mind for our customers would be extremely hard to accomplish if we were comfortable with mediocrity. We have a culture where going above and beyond for those we serve is not only recognized but appreciated.
One thing that makes an employer stand out is how much they invest in their employees. Companies can do this by sending their employees to several training events throughout the year (every year). This is not only a great resume builder for your employee but allows your company to stay up-to-date with current trends to stick out in your industry.
If training events are not available for their specific department, cross-training is another great option! This option will allow your employees to grow as a professional and contribute more to the company. This can also help decrease employee turnover, the last thing a company wants is their employees to leave because they are stuck doing the same thing every day without any personal/professional growth. The Basement Guys do that exact thing, we have training going on throughout the entire year!
The Basement Guys are not only an outstanding company to do business with but a fantastic place to work! If you are interested in starting your career with us, send your resume to Mary at [email protected].
